Observability is one of the strategic technologies that will enable enterprises
to operate more effectively and reliably. End-to-end observability across all
services of an application is essential for actionable insights and fast
incident response. How can organizations achieve end-to-end observability for
the mainframe? OpenTelemetry as an open-source, vendor-agnostic framework for
observability unlocks new avenues for gaining visibility into applications,
workloads and operations on the mainframe. OpenTelemetry has the momentum to
become the open standard for telemetry data distribution. Most observability
product vendors support Opentelemetry already or have plans to do. Learn about
OpenTelemetry for the mainframe and its use case for z/OS and Linux on IBM Z to
improve insights and enable end-to-end observability. Get an overview about the
activities of the open-source community to support OpenTelemetry on the
mainframe and hear about how to become an early adopter of OpenTelemetry for the
mainframe. -- Presented by Chris Walker; Ruediger Schulze
