COBOL 6.5 has been announced and was available June 13, 2025. It includes
exploitation of z17 hardware, VSAMDB support, user-defined types, OMITTED class
test and OPTIONAL parameters changes, improved Integration with ABO and Z Code
Optimization Advice – new SMARTBIN compiler option suboptions. Other
