As of z/OS 2.5, WLM coefficient settings were removed; IBM made a good move in
sunsetting an obsolete set of variables. I/O priority should follow. WLM I/O
Priority has been around for a long time and is in use at many datacenters. A
recent survey revealed many sites are not even clear on what the setting does.
While the default is '€˜off'' the recommendation in the WLM Planning manual is
'€˜on''. In this presentation we will demonstrate why this option should be turned
off and perhaps removed entirely like the coefficients.
