When starting a new career in the mainframe, people generally have little to no
experience in the area. The learning curve is high, and there is some belief
that new mainfraimers have a hard time being productive members of their team
for months. However, the speakers of this presentation aim to dispel this
belief. They will explain that with modern tooling and practices, the learning
curve drops significantly, allowing new mainframers to start contributing and
increasing the team's productivity faster. To give a real life example, the
speakers, who have 3 or fewer years of experience, will talk about their first
year working on the mainframe and what they have accomplished given the modern
tooling and processes they used in their work.
