SHARE Columbus 2022
Over the past few decades, the speaker has developed a wealth of tools that he
was allowed to share with the mainframe community thanks to his enlightened
management. In this session the speaker will present some of these tools that
enhance the ISPF users' productivity. This will be a high-level presentation on
each of the tools. Among the tools to be presented are: CBTView - a quick/easy
ISPF dialog to access the CBTTAPE files from your z/OS ISPF system. FTPBATCH -
an ISPF dialog that simplifies using FTP between z/OS systems, and between z/OS
and distributed systems. Including the ability to synchronize partitioned
datasets between two z/OS systems, selectively transfer PDS members, selectively
transfer one, or more, datasets. ISPF and Batch are supported. PDSEGEN - a full
featured ISPF application that exploits PDSE version 2 member generations.
Easily access generations, including comparing a generation to a non-generation
(or generation 0) member. Over 20 primary commands and 16-member specific
commands. OMVSMAN - ISPF dialog for access to OMVS man pages. SPELLC - ISPF Edit
spell checker (to catch those nasty finger checks when typing). TSOHELP - ISPF
dialog for improved access to TSO Help members. XMITIP - a full z/OS ISPF, and
batch, e-mail application for generating and sending e-mail, with attachments,
via SMTP. ZIGI - z/OS ISPF Git Interface. ZSTART - a simple ISPF application to
help configure, and manage, the ISPF ZSTART variable. ZSYNC - a simple ISPF
dialog to compare, and synchronize two partitioned datasets.
