You’ve heard of Java, C++ or even COBOL developers scanning their code for vulnerabilities and errors using tools like SonarQube. Why not do the same with JCL? With the help of some Zowe CLI plugins, you can scan JCL changes from CI/CD tools like Jenkins to protect your batch applications from encountering production failures. This session will highlight the mission critical nature of batch-oriented applications and the inherent risk in changing the JCL. We will compare the paradigm of scanning Java, C++, COBOL code using SonarQube with scanning JCL using a Zowe CLI plugin. We will also highlight the advantages of being able to scan JCL for mistakes from task runners, CI/CD, etc.-Sujay Solomon-Broadcom
