Installing modern languages on z/OS can require a multi-step discovery process,
e.g.: a python installation, a C compiler to build PyPI packages, and z Open
Automation Utilities installation. It can take several exchanges to converge on
the right environment. In this session we will explore how the recently released
IBM Z and Cloud Modernization Stack can enable you to use OpenShift to deploy
and manage installations of Python, Node.js, Go, Java, and z Open Automation
Utilities on z/OS targets from a single place. This new approach streamlines the
deployment of modernization-focused development environments with: a uniform
installation experience based on OpenShift, a single catalogue for obtaining the
latest releases of each product, and the ability to easily replicate deployments
across numerous machines. Join us to see how this approach, using skills and
workflows that may be familiar from other cloud environments, equips developers
to deploy the custom modernization development environments they need to begin
work.
